Hello
I've finally completed a map that I think can be released.
I have no name for it so I want the DP community to come up with one.
So download it and play it.

P.S. Sorry for the lack of screen shots, I don't know how to do multiple ones.

no offense but this map is weak. there is one small door to get to flag which is easy to camp so no one gets in or out, you cant get speed through the map because of the invisible wall, there is only two small ways to other side which would also be easy to line/camp. this map would never have any caps unless it was 1v1 but then you could camp the bottom of the stairs and kill him as they come down. I understand that this is your first release of a map and that you will learn. just try to avoid the narrow passages because they are easy to line, add some multiple, wider paths to flag and throw in some wicked jumps and ways to gain speed. keep trying and i could see you getting better.

Downloaded and went through this map.
Interesting concept.

Some suggestions...

1: Make your doorway openings larger so a player can more easily go through them. This especially applies to you holes in the ground to traverse the lower bypass section. BTW, that zigzag maneuver you have to do heading to the boxed middle is nasty nasty.

2: Make the climbing part of you ladders only able to allow climbing from the rungs directly in from of the ladders. The put angled clip brushes on the sides of the ladders so anyone passing by, but not wanting to go up the ladders, will not get caught and stuck by the ladders. If you applied a ladder surface property to the entire ladder brushes themselves, don't do this. Create you ladder, then create a clip brush that covers the entire rungs and make that the actual climbing part.

3: You dead zone in the middle is pretty wide. It does not allow you to go up onto the roof of the stone bunkers. Make it much thinner to allow this.

4: Speaking of the dead zone in the middle. You may want to put a white, or red/blue combo, strip down the center of the entire top part of the map as a mark of where you cannot pass.

5: Suggestion: You may want to allow a small pass-through to the other side from on top of the wall. It's such a tempting, yet totally exposed and vulnerable path, that you should reward anyone able to make it to the center of the map a reward of being able to pass through to the other side.

6: Lighting: There is no lighting in the map at all. Once you do light the map you will have to deal with the lower area in an elegant way. You may want to make that lower area taller so you can place some ceiling lights in there and not have the boxes block the area the light covers. Also, lighting those four paths into the lower area will be tough. As it is you can't hardly tell what is a wall and what is a path when you are in those zigzag paths.

7: No flags? When/If you place flags, make sure you place them logically. If you plan on placing the flags on top of the main back center bunker they will never be grabbed and successfully returned. It's way to difficult to get up there. If there was a way to could make it so you could do a jump out of the ditch all the way up on top for a grab, that might be a nifty little trick.

6: A little more cover might help. Everyone will group up around the few cover points in the map. This will cause highly concentrated fire at those points. Adding a group of barrels or boxes, or some other kinds of bunkers, might spread things out a bit. Keep in mind, too, that you only have two points of crossing the middle from the main floor. All main floor action will be concentrated at these points. You might think about placing a couple small bunker, group of boxes, or sets of barrels a few yards behind these two cross points. This will give players a staging point before committing to the middle bunkers.

7: Spawn points: I haven't checked out where your spawn points are, but you may want to consider making some kind of far back cover to put your spawn points behind (like BLitz) so players are relatively safe immediately after spawning. Don't do the long row of barrel textured boxes though. Be creative. Maybe another deeper ditch so everyone spawns in the open, but down in the ditch and out of sight.

I see this map, if tweaked a good bit, as being rather fun. It will be extremely fast. For good or bad, it's definitely a Blitz class speed map.

It's almost a dodgeball style map with the big clip brush in the middle.  Threw me for a while.  It's kind of a tease to have those ramped bunkers and then not even be able to use them to jump across.

The underground area is basically unusable since it takes about 3x's as long to get through.  The enemy will have captured your flag before you even reach their base.  That is, if you plan to even have flags.  If not, it might be OK as-is.  If you do have flags, about the only way I can see the underground path working is if you have some ice like in propaint1 and a ramp where you can launch yourself back outside quickly.

If you keep the ladder areas, you need to get rid of those really thin ledges around them.  One of the brushes was misaligned, too (see sshot).  Use a grid size of 32 or 16 for stuff like that and you won't end up with brushes that are misaligned like this.

Some other things that need tweaking:
- Add lighting (sun lighting works best for the outdoor area - underground will need some light fixtures).
- Rotate textures on ladder rungs.
- Make the door openings bigger.
- When you come up with a map name, use all lowercase letters (Linux is case-sensitive, so it causes issues on some servers if you don't do this).
- Be sure to release a second beta for more review.  When you have a fully compiled beta (that means with vis and lighting), I'll put it up on the beta server for play testing.

Finish it for you. Jitspoe said he'd put it up on the beta server.

Before you go starting another map, go ahead and completely finish that map. I know it's tough to drudge through the tedious work it takes to rebuild, rework, teak, and make all the changes people suggest, but that's part of map making. You'll never get it right on the first try. Hell, i'm on beta 10 on my latest map, but when it's done hopefully it will be perfect. Whether people play it or not isn't the thing. I map to express my creativity. If I don't finish it just doesn't feel right.
