jitspoe: Are the height of the doors to small? Considering your basiclly brushing your head by walking under it. Real life doors are 7ft (average) and the average height for someone that plays pro pb is 6-6'5.

Everyone else: I didn't know about rock until this post. I've only been playing dpball since August (and i'm very good at it, specialy jumps, ain't that right Spook :p). So don't be like that to picasso, he was doing the right thing and helping me out with a bigger pack than breaking my fingers like crazy

Zorch stuff it!  I loaded the page in IE and the page only had Maps and Map info.  Also, not everyone messes with torrents... I'll bet my zip file has more maps anyway but regardless all I was trying to do was help the guy.
Theres your problem, IE is as outdated as you (joking) Smiley

But sick map for a new mapper, really good work.

LOL My apologies Zorch and Smokey I'm starting to find that out about myself.

I had never messed with torrents until today.  I hope I picked a good program in Azureus if not let me know of a better one.

Holy shit!! Talk about Fast!!

Now I did find out that the map pack on rockon.dajoob.com had 15 maps more than my zip did however I found out through adding the maps on my machine to that map pack that I had 121 maps that the torrent pack didn't have. So now I have a total of 699 maps.  Also, my zip included what sound, texture and mapinfo files I had.

If I can get a hold of someone who might have ALL the Extra Texture and Sound files as well as the standard ones that come with DP, I can zip a more complete map directory.

In other words if the majority of your maps have all their textures and sound files, please zip them or make a torrent so that I can create a larger and more complete Mega Map Pack.

I've definitely got to learn more about torrents...  The DL of the zip file from the GRaFFiTi server is very fast but when I figured out how to do the torrent it was like *Blink* WTF!!

Anyway, I would appreciate any of you that have been here long enough to have acquired all texture and sound files to hook me up Smiley

Thanks in advance Smiley

He has "ready" on topic, but then again he might not be. He probally is considering he hasn't said anything for awhile.

Yeah that's what I was wondering because there was some critique after he posted it but he hasn't replied or commented on it.  I like the map as it is but I hate to put it up if he's not completely finished with it.

i had a chance to play this map on a test server a couple weeks ago with about  10-15 other people. it played really well with that many players, lots of different directions to take. made for some interesting encounters around corners! i think this one would be nice to see on the servers. thanks for the mega map pack too Picasso, theres alot of the maps in there i lost when my old laptop fried out on me.

Are you going to keep the doors?  You mentioned something about removing them.

I tried the map without doors and the wpoly was to high, besides when we played last week on our network (20 plus players), hardy any one was using the doors, everyone was going high and low.

Some of the spawns seem really close to the middle (right in the ground base entrance).

Most of the spawns are in the ammo room, but I stuck a couple of spawns out in the suicide area for some unlucky souls.

Thanks for all the good feedback, I will release the final version tomorrow. Kurt

I'll upload that version as soon as you post it.  Nice work Smiley

Are you using areaportals on the doors?  Doors are normally just entities, so they won't decrease your r_speeds any (they'll actually just add more polygons) unless you have a func_areaportal set up to trigger the visibility behind the doors.

The doors are entities, but when I removed them the poly "seemed" to jump up when looking at the entry way.

Jitspoe, I am ready to post the final, would it be good to rename the file "hca_fort" and drop all the version numbers? I would like to have one final version, and eliminate any confusion. Let me know. Thanx Kurt

Yeah, the final version should just be hca_fort.bsp.
