...sounds more like 'Capture the Flag' than 'Protect the President'. And I've got to agree with Spook and Smokey. :/

It's good work considering you didn't copy airtime this time ;]. Don't listen to spook or smokey. Just take it as practice and learn some new stuff.

I like it, it has speed, and a different type of map. You start with the flag and take it to other side. There is 1 other map like this, desert theme, small mid...

For some of the above posters: There's a difference between being politely helpful and just a plain asshole. My first suggestion is to make the map slightly larger. It's too small/open to capture the flag. Teams will probably win by elimination before they are able to capture. If you're going for a map where the team escorts the flag holder, it's probably not going to happen. Most likely the team will break apart and just eliminate everyone, or the flagholder (if the other team is too incompetent to keep the flag) will rush and cap all on his own. The ramp on the slick under the hill is annoying. You hit your head on the ceiling if you're going at all fast (one of my pet peeves, low ceilings). The textures are alright, but there's no real theme that pulls them together. You've got blue and purple lights along the base of a rocky texture, checkerboards on a glass slick with lights sticking out of a hill. You get what I'm trying to say? The base to capture the flag has brushes that overlap and cause the textures to overlap too. Some textures, such as the lights under the hill, are a pixel too wide/off. There are a few inconsistencies, such as the gray wood that sticks out of the spawning base (not sure why it sticks out). It doesn't continue all the way to the edge. Small fixes like this can make a map much better. The trig_push (I believe) in the base to capture the flag is VERY annoying. If you slightly hit it the wrong way it'll send you flying back. If you get caught in there it's also annoying to get out. It doesn't really have a purpose. If you want players to get in and out quickly, make the entrances larger. Hope this helps, and don't give up

Thanks for all that help IAMATITAN, as soon as I get a break from christmas holidays I'l be sure to take your advice and clean up the map. As for your opinion on not being able to cap.. You can simply go over the ramp and land in the pentagonel opening in the top. Rather easy to cap that way, as it is hard to line coming down. And I do intend on keeping those trigger_pushes (although most people are against it). When you get used to it, it really makes a quick and unique way of leaving the base. Thanks for all your help.

Spook: Try to use a little more tact and make your criticism more constructive.
RyTh3M: Generally people's first maps aren't well accepted as they aren't built very well. Don't take it personally. It's honestly better to use your first map -- and in many cases, your first several maps -- as learning tools to help you better understand the mapping process, then scrap them and work on something better.
If you're going to make a protect the president style map, I think using the siege entities would work better, otherwise it's just inverse CTF.
Finally, lollipop trees look really bad. In my opinion it's better not to attempt to make trees at all since you can't really make anything that looks very good out of brushes.
