Well playing in pub earlier today on rally, I saw a ton of errors and etc. I was pretty bored so I figured I'd remake it and hopefully make it nicer. No, I didn't add any new paths or anything. I only wanted to make it nicer since it seems to be a popular map. Beta 3 download: http://upload.arena-zone.com/676758I know there are no flags in it at this point. My wc doesnt have a flag ent for some reason. Anyone willing to do flags and cap points let me know. Screens:        Any suggestions, etc. would be nice. For somebody who claims to hate pub so much, you seem to focus on pub-oriented maps. It certainly does look better visually, but there are several issues.
- Message (Should be something besides "Paintball 2.0 map") - Spawns have no teamnumber, so players from different teams spawn in both bases. - Spawn angles are wrong in one base (you spawn facing the wall) - The glass... well, I hate glass bunkers personally. They kill most strategy. It also doesn't fit with the theme and makes the base very hard to defend. Not to mention it removes the high path out of the base. - The bunkers are really thick. I guess they probably were in the original map, but they look really unnatural -- the X bunker, in particular. It's like 4 feet thick (remember 1foot is only like 8-10 units). - Ladder textures need to be rotated to go along the length of the boards (ladders also seem unnaturally big). - The boxes are spaced too far apart in the middle. You can't easily jump across them like you could in the original. - Maybe a cheap tactic, but I think a lot of people liked the small crack between the boxes that they could shoot through. - I like the box piles to make it possible to get on top from the middle, but you might want to simplify them to a basic double jump or even stack boxes all the way up to make them more accessible to newbies (since this is going to be a more pub-oriented map) - You should make the spawn points so people are always facing the equipment. If you spawn in front of the equipment, then turn around to pick it up, you end up not getting things in the right order (pick up ammo before a hopper) and start "stealing" things from other people. - You should add in another path - maybe DSM - so it's playable with more people. - In areas where you have brushes of different thicknesses meeting each other (such as the metal meeting the glass in the base), you need to use clip brushes to prevent people from getting caught.

I knew the spawns were messed up, I don't know how to rotate them in wc. I'll rotate the wood textures. Also, the x metal is only like 16 units thick im pretty sure. But I can slim it up, not a big deal. I'll shorten the middle up a little so you can gap the boxes high. The glass bunker thing was only made cause i kinda effed up the high path. I'll take that out and do someting I guess.

I wasn't bringing him down, or at least that wasn't my intent. I just pointed out the things that need to be worked on.
Even if the bunkers are only 16 units thick, that's still almost 2 feet thick -- a pretty massive chunk of wood (and metal).

I made the mid a little smaller, made it easier to get on crates, made a little gap in crates to shoot through, made the x thinner and smaller, added a plank on the middle crates, added some other stuff, and a little lip to ramp off on the glass bunker

The X looks better. Still unrealistic, but doesn't look unreasonably thick. The texture on the bottom of the wood plank in the middle needs to be rotated, but the top looks good.
I found a picture of a real ladder for reference to compare to yours. Those stone blocks are 32 units, so a player is smaller than 2 of them. I actually should have scaled that photo down even more. Kind of surprising how unrealistic the scale is, huh? It's not just your map, though. Almost everything is out of whack. It would be nice if we could push for a little more realism in future maps, though.
Oh, and for humor, I've also attached another image I found in a google image search looking for a ladder. Haha.

Instead of taking screenshots, I decided to record a demo: http://upload.arena-zone.com/206318Checklist of things to fix: - Rotate mid plank texture (bottom) - Rotate ladder textures (and I think you should make the ladders a more reasonable scale as well, but that's your choice) - Make the platform lower so you can rush the high path. - Make box to X jump a little more accessable. - Clip textures. - Ladder clip textures (that stick out a bit to make ladder climbing easier). - More paths (DSM, maybe). I've put it up on the beta server for testing.

Looks really good, the only thing i dislike is that on rally. From the spawn you can go up that ladder, jump to the L, then jump to the ledge, then to X, and then to mid. Which, for me, seemed a lot faster then going up the ladder to the ledge then going high. This doesn't look possible with how the map is setup right now. Overall looks great.
