Speaking of console commands, anyone have any idea why all of a sudden the commands "players" and "names" don't give me a list of players in console?

Also, Jits how much longer till b17??  This execing config/z thing is driving me insane. I could understand it checking once at the start of the game but it's all through the game and so annoying.

I was hoping to wrap up build 17 pretty soon, but with the whole dpball.com situation, it's going to knock things back a bit.  I can make you a new build that doesn't do that as often, but it will have to wait until probably after New Years since I don't have access to it right now.

cmd players doesn't do it either...  Is strange as hell.  This is a fresh install of the game and I have you're latest serverside build on the GRaFFiTi servers.  I wasn't having any of these problems before but because I had the latest clientside build, the problem has to be being caused by the last serverside build you gave me.

I'm game whenever you're ready on new builds.

Now on the players, cmd players, names command issue, others claimed theirs were working but mine isn't.

Any other clues?

This happened to me, too. I was trying to see who all had ops on TMB Clan Server and it didnt show the playerlist.

I just tried it on one of the graffiti pub servers, and it worked fine.

How stupid!!! I just figured it out...   In your layout options if you set Display Messages to "CHAT ONLY" then it doesn't allow those console commands to work.

Jitspoe might wanna fix it where those commands still work as those are user activated type commands rather than annoying "Messages" like elims and items. 

I set mine to "No Items" and now my "Players" command gives me the list of players like it's supposed too.

Again, that's fine and dandy for messages which the game itself generates that might be annoying to users, but user generated commands shouldn't be blocked simply because if we didn't want to see the Players list for instance, we simply wouldn't type it.  I'm sure you know where I'm coming from here.

While we're talkin about the console system here's a few things I've noticed:

1.  Player's list doesn't need skin types.  Room for other things like maybe something that recognizes a person as being logged in on the Global Login System.

2. Server grid inside game needs to be widened so that you can see full names of servers or more information.  It also needs clickable sorting options similar to your server browser

3.  The color scheme needs closing tags so that colors don't run on into other users info for instance when I do the /rcon status command... everything reads normal till you get to Joeblow whose name is blue then all the rest of the status info winds up blue or changes to another color with someone else's colored name.

"execing config/z", that command is bugging me as well recently. It started to occur when I followed jitspoe's suggestion on having a fixed port for my connections, a command which is write-protected. From what I've seen so far, I believe that the game will "refresh" your config once in a while automatically, and as it then tries to set some values and can't, it will bring up that error. Not sure how that could be fixed, as I guess this might be hardcoded somewhere.

There was a thread about this on the other forum but to sum it up, Jitspoe is aware of it and it won't be there on b17.  Also, it's not setting values, it's checking them.

so thats what what that is. i was on a few pub servers (for the first time) yesterday and was wondering what that meant.
