About 45 minutes before dawn on Sunday, December 10th, three planets will be alined for the first time since 1925.  It won't happen again until 2053.  Jupiter, Mercury and Mars are the three planets.  They are millions of miles away but the orbits make them seem to be right next to each other.  I know, no one wants to be up 45 minutes before dawn.  But you can still see this today and on Monday, they just won't be as close.  To view, find east-southeast.  Hold your hand out at the horizon in a fist with the pinky on the bottom.  Halfway up your fist will be the area of the planets.  Jupiter will be white, Mercury pinkish, and Mars butterscotch.  Think I'll look for this tonight.  If I can figure out where east-southeast is.

Interesting. I might set an alarm to see if I can see that, too, since I don't imagine I'll still be awake. I have no clue which way east-southeast is, though.

Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.
