George Clooney's beloved pig, Max, died Friday of natural causes.  He was 19 years old.  Max was given to Clooney by his former wife, Talia Balsom, 18 years ago.  When she left, Max stayed.  Clooney has said that Max has been his longest relationship.  RIP Max.

Natural causes.  Bacon is a natural cause, right?

That's so sad. Pets are just so near and dear to people's hearts. RIP Max.

Pigs are supposed to make great pets, too, aren't they?

Yes, pigs make great pets.  Contrary to popular belief, pigs are very clean.  I think they can eat dog food so there's no need for "slops".  They are very affectionate and usually get along with everyone and other pets.  They live a long life, as well.  Max was 19.

Aren't they extremely intelligent, too?

I wonder why pigs get such a bad rap

Probably just because they're always seen playing in mud and stuff and mud is "dirty" so pigs are dirty.

I wouldn't mind having a pig, honestly, but I'd want a little piglet and not some giant hog, I think. Pigs get to be pretty good-sized, don't they? I guess they'd be comparable in size to a medium-large dog, though.

I just looked up pigs on wikipedia and they are roughly as intelligent as dogs. A study at Penn State had a couple of pigs playing video games using joysticks with their snouts, even. I've never heard of a dog playing video games, I don't think. That's pretty sweet. I knew pigs were smart but I didn't know they were that smart.

Also, the mud thing is to keep them cool because they don't have sweat glands. They also use it as sunscreen.

Damn smart animals, seems like.

One computer desk away from her is either her mom or Marlie. Marlie's desk is between mine and hers Smiley

Marlie's not near as big as a pig as her brother...or her stepfather...or me. LOL.

And Chris isn't my pig. He's my garbage disposal. Big difference.  Grin
