Here's the first of many incidents I'm sure we're bound to hear about with the Nintendo Wii. This guy lost control of the Wii stick and flung it at his TV while playing bowling on Wii Sports. "But there's a wrist strap" you say. Well apparently it's uselss because the strap snapped and the guy ended up cracking his 60" TV after spearing it with the flying remote.

Oh, yeah, the SA Forums. Super is going to spooge knowing that you posted something from there.

Hehehehe, once again, Nintendo products win. I swear their controllers are indestructable. I was playing an N64 game once, got all sort of mad, and slammed the controller onto the ground. Worked perfectly afterwards and had no physical damage on it

I just merged your topic with the other one, tenchu, carry on with the discussion about how crazy these people must apparently be getting to be flinging their remotes around and breaking things. I have heard reports of faulty straps and if there's this much damage happening, there's probably some truth to it. Although I have to admit, I am a little skeptical considering Nintendo's track record with peripherals and their durability.

Personally i havent had a reason to release the controller from my fingers yet... hell i dont even USE the strap other than to clip the nunchuk to it.  There must be some supremely stupid folks out there.

I stand by my earlier praise: the Wii rocks.

Yeah, I gotta go with that assessment, too, I think, even though I've not actually played a Wii. To be playing so hard that you actually fling the controller out of your hand, honestly, I don't see how that's possible. I can't grasp the concept.

Cool link! At least now I won't have to post up the individual damage reports as I find them. LOL

Nintendo is now sending out, free of charge, thicker straps to people who request them and the new straps will be in all the new hardware shipments. Of course, the easier way to settle this is to not friggin spaz out on the games

Too bad they didn't correct the problem before someone got hurt: http://kotaku.com/gaming/wiimote/wii-injuries--the-inevitable-conclusion-222255.php
