Following the news that a Terminator television pilot, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is in the works, the casting for the title lead has been announced. Variety reports that Sarah Connor will be played by Lena Headey of The Brothers Grimm and the upcoming 300. The role was played in the first two Terminator movies by a buff and tough Linda Hamilton, leaving me wondering why they cast this pretty young thing instead of another disgusting brute of a woman. How about Chris Kattan?

They're making a TV series? I hope it's not about her between the first and second Terminator movies because it would be boring without the butt kicking cyborgs... considering she was dead by Terminator 3 and thus cannot be about her during the war

Haven't seen any news about this but my thinking is that it is about her between the first and second movies. And it'll be about her being a single mom trying to raise John while knowing the war is coming but not knowing when. Seeing Cyberdine being built, etc. Getting herself into shape. All the crap John was so bitter about.

I don't think it will work either. It'll go the way of Smith.

Shame, too. I liked Smith. Knew it stood no chance but watched it anyway.

The guy who plays Zach on Heroes has been cast as John Connor. I really don't know how this show would work time wise...

Then it would have to be after the second Terminator was killed. I think John in Terminator II was 12 or 14.

Which means the series would have to end with Sarah Connor's death, since she died before Terminator 3

Terminator 3 isn't required viewing like The Terminator and Terminator 2 are.
I found out Sarah Connor's death, thanks to Wikipedia. She died in 1997 of leukemia so if this series takes place after T2, they'll only have about 3 years to play with since T2 takes place in 1994. John Connor is supposed to be in his 20s in T3

Oh, man, now I have to watch this show because Summer Glau is in it... she plays the Connors' Terminator protector.
