Not sure where all the posters in this forum are located but please check in if you are being affected by the snowstorms hitting the Midwest and heading to the Northeast.
I already got elmono's gripe about us giving away the snowblower. Who knew he and Vengeance would be in a house now? Now I've got to think about the in-laws in Maryland. They will freak with the storm since they have to drive down the east coast next week.
And it is cold here in north Georgia. We didn't get the snow. It's rainy, damp and a horrible 37 degrees.

Nothing here. 40 and cloudy, but no rain. A slight wind, according to weather.com.
Columbia, SC, of course.

We've got a foot easy and snow emergencies all over the place. We're at a level 2 as a county, meaning only go out if absolutely necessary. Hopefully the blizzard conditions that are supposed to hit later won't throw us into a level 3. If it does and elmono is still at work...well, he's stuck there until they go back to level 2.

I'm back from work so don't worry. The snow has stopped but I heard the melted snow is starting to freeze... although I saw no such thing driving home. It's slippery, yes, but not because of ice but because of the slush.

Just be glad that the drivers there should be experienced in winter driving and have a little bit of sense about how to drive in it. Probably not, though. But you should have seen it in Clemson when we got like 2 inches of snow this past year and the roads were icy. It was crazy. Get this... cars coming down a hill and making a right turn not slowing down to nearly a crawl and then nearly slamming into cars waiting to turn left onto the street the first car was on. I was about 2 cars from getting T-boned. The wreck was avoided, but it was close. I would have hated to be the driver sitting at the stoplight waiting to turn and have some sorostitute come barreling down the hill in her daddy's SUV and ram my little Cavalier.

Well, most of them have at least seen snow before, right? Snow and cold weather are totally foreign concepts around here. People start wearing heavy jackets at like 50 degrees. It's actually quite humorous.

You should know from your experiences in Nebraska that, even though they're used to snow, they freak out when it does snow...

True true. Why are people dumb?
I thought it was funny like the first winter we were in SC, it snowed like an inch and the governor or mayor or somebody declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard.

I know, right. But it does make sense. In Nebraska, it was like anybody with a decent-sized pickup truck had a snowplow on it. There's like 2 for the whole city here or something.

I know my parents back home (South Jersey) got around a foot of snow with 20 degree temperatures (overnight wind chill was about 10 below). Crappy weather, but nothing out of the ordinary.
