I was just wondering, who else here thinks that Halo is one of the most overrated games in the existance of video games? I've played it and it was nothing more to me but just another first-person shooter. I wonder why those Xbox fans spooged so much over it. I have an Xbox, I played it, and the controls are absolutely horrendous, the graphics are nothing special, and the story? Marine guy goes out to save all of human-kind. Sounds familiar...

*raises hand* Agreed. If it had come out on PC first, it would be a mediocre game at best. It's got nothing on games like UT2004, BF1942, and HL2. And when it did come out for PC, it was nothing special at all.

WORD!  i beat the original game in less than 8 hours, and ive heard that the newer one is even shorter.  Multiplayer may be fun, but if they want that, design the game for only that a la BF1942.  I thought while entertaining, HALO is nowhere near the caliber of a game everyone makes it out to be.

Seems pretty medeocre to me, too.  I saw some people playing Halo2, and I couldn't tell if it was the new one or the old one -- gfx still looked pretty blah as opposed to some of the "screenshots" that were released for it earlier.

I'm really not big on the cheap plasma effects -- those went out of style in like 1998.

Oh cmon... the Doom plasma rifle (circa 1993) was leet and it still is... it's just the new gaming engines aren't doing it justice

Well, yeah, but you get the point that I was making :)  Most things now are just a rip from something old (C console: Quake, Most weapons: Wolf3D, Doom or Quake... though HL2 did a decent job modding their stuff to at least give it a halfway new feel)... But then again, people like Nathan come along and rewrite EVERYTHING, so that all goes out the window :x

My game may not have blood and gore like most, but it does require a lot of balls to play!

I want to play paintball again. That was fun the one time we played in the last 4 years, haha. We should fix that sometime when you have a break from work.

Paintball is the shizzit. Me and a few friends back in Nebraska used to play it all time. So much fun. Then there's always airsoft ;-)

Well, let's just say airsoft should be played very far away from neighborhoods :-)
