I get this free publication called "Gwinnett Lifestyles".  It's something that gets delivered to every resident in Gwinnett County.  Kind of an upscale thing.

The title of the mag for the month is "Pamper Yourself - The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation".  This place is 75 miles east of Atlanta and is #4 on the list of Top Resort Spas in the US and Canada.

Intrigued since I'm dying to get back to regular monthly massages, I read the article.  Sounds great and they have a Valentine's Special called "Swept Away".  RichN and I are going to the lively city of Chattanooga for that weekend (it's my birthday weekend) but I'd gladly change it.

The description - "The two-night, three-day package includes:  Presidential House Accommodations, His/Her BVLGARI Ergon Watches, Chimineas Dinner with Private String Quartet Serenade, Personal Chef to Prepare Valentine's Dinner, Moonlit Lake Tour, Couples Massage, Butler-drawn Bath, Cozy Breakfast in Bed, Rose Petal Turndown, Plus more.....

The price?  Everyone sit down for this one.

Starting at $8700/night.

Who the hell would pay that much money for a weekend?  I could go to Disney World once a month for three years and not go through that kind of cash.

Guess we're going to Chattanooga and touring the Civil War battlefields.

Jeebus... That's nuts. Although it does sound nice, it's way too much money for a weekend, unless you're bringing home a truckload of money. And there's probably plenty of clientele only 75 miles from Atlanta.

Ah, to be one of those people who could carelessly throw away money like that...

Starting at $8700/night.

Seeing as how I was in the Cayman's for the better part of a week for around a quarter of that, Gwinnett is NOT great.
