So was it actually from tectonic plates shifting or was it the doings of a volcano?

I'm glad I don't live in an earthquake-prone area, I know that for sure.

I wonder how many people know there's a major faultline underneath Memphis...

or that we used to get earthquakes just south of Omaha... or that there was a 6.0 earthquake out in the Gulf of Mexico not too far from Florida not too long ago.

Or that we had an earthquake on the western side of Atlanta a few years ago.  I don't think anyone can say they live in an area that's not prone to an earthquake.  You just never know.

Well, I guess that's true. I guess more what I meant was, I'm glad I don't live on an active fault like San Andreas or something. The odds of a big quake there are more than here. Granted, there's hurricanes which are just as bad but you at least know those are coming and generally have several days to prepare.

And I do remember that quake near Atlanta a few years back. That was when I was still in school. I was sleeping and it woke me up and I was like "What the hell?" It wasn't very big or anything where I was but it was enough to wake me up, at least.

I was just about to post about that.  "Remember that time we felt the earthquake at Clemson?"

There was a lady behind me in line at Wal-Mart talking about how she got back just in time to see the place she was just at hit by an earthquake.

It's been reported now that it was the doings of a volcano.

And Super - that is one "nice" thing about hurricanes.  Of all the natural disasters, you at least get lots of notice about them.  Enough time to get your ass out of harm's way if you choose.

Yes, definitely the only "plus" to hurricanes is the advance warning.

When you say "ring of fire", all I can think of is, "#$%@#^$@#$^ NATHAN!" (BF2 reference).

That's "circle of power" but "ring of fire" definitely works, too. And yes, we curse you for your artillery magnet headgear.

Super, remember the one time it was just me and you on Warlord and we had no problems with artillery? Then Nathan joins up and the second he joins our squad, we get blasted by artillery?

I don't know that I remember the specific incident but I don't doubt in the least that it happened. I remember it happening, I just can't picture the event in my head.
