I was watching Gladiator, which has one of my favorite movie moments, so I decided to create this thread. What are some of your favorite movie moments? I bolded the titles so if you haven't seen the movie yet, you can skip over any potential spoilers.

Gladiator: When Maximus reveals himself to Commodus, the moment is just awesome.
"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

Jurassic Park: When the Brachiosaurus is shown for the first time and the T-Rex attack

Braveheart: William Wallace's execution. "Freeeeeeeedom!"

The Iron Giant: When the Iron Giant sacrifices himself to save the town. "Superman..."

Aliens: The aliens in the vent shaft. Too cool

The Matrix: The first scene with Trinity, thus the world's introduction to bullet time

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones: The Imperial March played at full blast at the end of the movie

The Empire Strikes Back: "I am your father." Simple enough

Star Wars Saga: Pretty much anything else

Black Hawk Down: Just about the whole movie, especially the defense of the downed helicopter and the nighttime attack with the choppers

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Just about anything from those movies

Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow's introduction

Saving Private Ryan: Normandy

Spider-Man: Peter Parker going after Uncle Ben's killer

Terminator 2: Final showdown between the T-800 and T-1000

Back to the Future: The introduction of the DeLorean

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow: During the first attack on New York City, when the massive robots are first seen from ground level. It was a very nice and built up introduction

I'm pretty sure I'll think of others later. I'll add on to this list when I do

I'll do what elmono did with the bolding and such. I highly doubt that anybody has seen the movies that I like.

Four Rooms: Look at my quote and you'll know my fave part of the movie. Ione Skye's boobs were pretty cool, too, just because the bellboy covered her up with his jacket.

Steel Magnolias:There are so many...Everything with Ouiser. The big funeral monologue is another good one.

Somewhere in Time:When they make love. When she sees him again on her last day alive. When he goes back to her for eternity and when she screams his name when she sees him again in 1912.

Terms of Endearment:When Shirley McClaine goes off into the water and Jack Nicholson feels her up. I really like when Emma needs her pain meds and her mom goes psycho on the nurses when they don't get in there right away.

An Officer and a Gentleman: Uh...the end.  Wink

There's more, but I can't think of them right now.

Here's the start of my list:

Gone With the Wind - The last half hour from Scarlett's miscarriage to the very end.? I try and watch that alone since I cry the entire time.? The last line - "I'll think about that tomorrow for tomorrow is another day".

Gremlins - The whole thing.? "Bright lights".? "Bye Billy".

Broken Arrow - Christian Slater takes a wrong step and Samantha Mathis yells "That's crypticgammic soil.? One footstep will remain for millions of years".? Slater replies "Oh great, endangered dirt".? Plus, the film was shot in Canyonlands National Park in Utah where elmono and I had a great time (Burger King onion rings being the exception).

Ghostbusters - I think I could do the entire script.? "Ray, when someone asks you if you are a God, you say YES!".? "So, she's a dog".? "Listen, smell something?"? The Stay-Puft marshmellow man.? "Nice doggy".

Steel Magnolias - Same as Vengence - the funeral scene.? Plus, we got to watch this film together at Disney World and it was a great time with my daughter-in-law.? The scene during the wedding preparations when Tom Skeritt takes care of the bird situation with a shotgun.

Risky Business - The underwear dance scene.? "Sometimes you just gotta say 'what the f***'"

The Lion King - The opening scene.? Seeing that in the teatre was awesome.? When the last note of "Circle of Life" ended, I sat there and asked richn if we could rewind it.

Beauty and the Beast - The ballroom dance between Belle and the Beast.? I know it was computer drawn but Belle looked so lifelike.? LaFool (Gaston's sidekick).? Chip stole the show.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit - The first time you see the humans and the Toons in the opening scene.? The technology back then was earth shattering.? "All the times you yanked my ears?"

Saving Private Ryan - The first twenty minutes.? Again, seeing that in a theatre was amazing.? RichN leaned over and asked if I was going to make it.? Honestly, I wasn't sure.

"Very Bad Things" - I loved this movie and saw it in a theatre.? The audience's reactions to some of the things in that movie was hysterical.

Office Space - Too true to life.? Gary Cole as the boss.? Jennifer Anniston having to have at least 16 pieces of flair on her TGIF wannabe uniform.

Good thread.

Well, continuing (and testing my memory) and I'll continue updating this as I think of more...

Platoon:? Dafoe on the plain below the chopper in the slow-mo sequence

Backdraft: The ending (obscenely sad, but so quality)

Independence Day: Sitting in a theater and watching the first time the space ships come out of the clouds and descend over the cities. (and a few other parts from that movie)

Lilo and Stitch: Lilo whines to Stitch about being nothing but destructive and asks him to create something.? Stitch runs around like a whirlwind for a few minutes, the camera pans back and you get the effect: "Wow... San Francisco".? Then comes Godzillastitch, rofl

Animal House: The famous speech: "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

The Green Mile: A huge part of that movie, but especially the ending.

The Rock: The "Your best?" exchange, and the green flares at the end.

Dodgeball: "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball."

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: The ending and a ton of the rest of the movie

A Time To Kill: Haley's (Samuel L. Jackson) closet scene where he comes running out to start the core of the movie

Jaws: Roy Schneider, "Smile you son of a..."

Se7en: The ending

American Beauty: A ton of the movie, mostly the ending (guess I just have a thing for Kevin Spacey dying)

K-Pax: Following the above theme, minus the death

Now that I'm well rested to think of more Smiley

The Rock: One of my favorite movies of all time. I can't believe I forgot to put that on my list. The winners and losers quote is also one of my favorite. And, just because of the camera angle, the part where Nicolas Cage kneels up on the ground and grabbing the gun while Connery is fighting in the cart is just too cool visually.

Lilo & Stitch: The opening title sequence with Lilo swimming in the water. The music goes wonderful with the opening

Ghostbusters: Yeah, the whole movie

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: "I didn't know you could fly!" "Fly, yes! Land, no!"

The Green Mile: The end when John Coffey is executed

I'm pretty sure more will come

A little continuation of my list.

Jaws - How could I forget that one?  Saw it in the theatre the first time (way back when it was first released) at the Delaware ocean.  It was raining and we, along with every other tourist, didn't have anything better to do.  Not one seat was left in the theatre.  When Bruce (the shark) is busily eating Robert Shaw, the theatre was silent except for my father who was laughing uncontrollably.  The scene where Shaw, Scheider, and Dreyfuss are on the boat, drinking, and they start to one-up each other.  Hilarious, depressing, and a great male bonding moment.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - "Snakes, why does it always have to be snakes?"  The ending when you just know that damn thing is going to be lost forever.

Stand by Me - I always wonder how many people saw this movie and never realized it was a Stephen King story.  Of the four kids, one died was too young and stupidly, one is a joke in Hollywood, one is hated by Star Trek fans, and one is on "Crossing Jordon".  Keifer Sutherland was a nice badass in this.  "Suck my dick".

A Few Good Men - Come on - "The truth, you can't handle the truth".

I have a few here, also.  Many have already been discussed.

Any Jean Claude Van-Damme movie!!!!  OK, let the laughter subside.

Stripes - "OK, black guys teach the white guys".  "I'm going to give you the Aunt Jemima treatment".

Apocolypse Now - "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"

Wild Things - Just an awesome movie that disnut refuses to watch.  She thinks it's all about sex, but the ending is what makes the movie great.  Surprise she doesn't want to see Kevin Bacon's schlong in that one scene.

Lethal Weapon 4 - Chris Rock is hilarious when he's chewing out Peschi from the back seat of the car.  Especially when he calls him a leprachaun.  But, try watching that movie on regular TV.  Gets destroyed by the sensors.  Oh, and Jet Li is great.

Jaws - One that many missed "I think we're gonna need a bigger boat"

Die Hard - After the chopper the FBI guys are in, the police chief's comment "I think we're going to need a few more FBI guys"

Animal House - I'll keep it clean, but when Pinto has the angel and devil over his shoulders giving him advice on whether he should boink the mayor's daughter.

Saving Private Ryan - The whole movie.  Should have gotten best actor and best supporting actor Oscars.

I'm sure other movies made an impression.  As disnut says, I make movie quotes all the time.

Whoops, forgot my all-time favorite quote from Stripes.

"We're Americans!  Our forefathers have been kicked out of every decent country in the world.  We're mutts, we're mutants!"

Not sure if that's precise, but one that I really like.

I found more because I had to watch movies today when I was waiting for the husband.

Stepmom: The whole movie for the most part, but I love the part where the two women are talking about their biggest fears when the daughter gets older and gets married. Stepmom: 'My biggest fear is that she'll say 'I wish my mom was here'. Mom: 'You see...my biggest fear is that she won't.'

Entrapment: I really got turned on with the little fight scene that had Catherine and Sean all out of breath and lying on the ground together. Connery is all about sex though. He's like a walking pheromone release.

And how would you classify Catherine Zeta-Jones?

bad movie, but still a killer moment, haha.

Rambo II: after they kill Rambo's woman, he starts going crazy on the Russians and the VietCong in Nam.  Theres this mudrock wall near a waterfall that this Russian soldier walks by.  Then you see the eyes open in the wall behind him, and BAM! Rambo comes outta the wall all covered in mud and knifes the dude.  Its much like when Arnold muds up so the Predator cant see him, except much cooler.  The rest of the movie (rambo II) is just cheesy action crap, but that one moment is still killer everytime i see it, which is why i own all three rambo movies on dvd haha.
