I have a little web-based todo script that I use to keep track of all the things I need to do.  Just in case I screw up and delete something I shouldn't, I save a list off all the things I've deleted.  Out of curiosity, I just checked that list to see how many things I had "done" (or at least deleted off the todo list), and it came to a nice total of 2222.  Makes me feel somewhat productive. Yes, but since when? It took a year and a half to take pictures of your apartment so I could see it, hehe.

Now, see, I don't get why you make fun of me for trying to keep my new-to-me car looking nice.

Actually, Super, we have seen your apartment.  The one at Clemson.  Freaked me right the hell out.

There's nothing wrong with keeping a new used car looking nice but you go to the extremes

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH PARKING IN ONLY ACCEPTABLE PLACES TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCE THAT SOMEONE IS GOING TO SLAM THEIR CAR DOOR INTO MINE!

Like I said, though, acceptable places aren't necessarily out in the boonies. True, many acceptable places are in the boonies but the furthest spot in the lot isn't necessarily acceptable. If there's not one of those median things at the end of the row of parking spots and someone can park on one side and drive by (or heaven forbid, into) my car on the other, it's not acceptable.

There's varying degrees of acceptability, too. Just because someone can only park on one side doesn't make a spot completely acceptable. It's far better to have your no-park barrier on the right and any cars that park next to you park on the left since probably more than 9 times out of 10, anybody parking next to you is going to be pulling into the spot rather than backing in. Of course there's going to be a driver but there may or may not be a passenger so it's better to have enemy vehicles park so that door opening damage is minimized as much as possible.

Parking under trees is also not preferred since trees shed crap all over and birds like to sit in them and crap all over your car. I ended up parking in a tree spot (but it's a good tree spot since there's medians on BOTH sides of the spot and it's an isolated spot) at my apartment last weekend and I had three giant piles of bird crap that I had to clean off. I parked in that same spot again last night since it's right outside of my front door and it threw down with the rain last night so my car is filthy and needs to be washed much sooner than later. Needed it anyway but now.... oi. Man, it's dirty.

k, and yes, I realize I'm going to get made fun of by everyone on this forum now.

My Grand Prix is just special like that.

No really, it's got more to do with the fact that it's the first car I bought on my own and I like it a lot and want to keep it looking good for as long as possible. I try to be that way with all of my stuff.

You can only park in a space facing south on a non windy day when the moon will be full within three days.  Otherwise, you just keep circling until the right conditions are met.

That's right - because sooner or later, it'll rain and wash it off.  Simple.

I like having a car I don't care much about.  I can park it wherever the heck I want.

If that "anal retentive" retentive comment was directed toward me, I must laugh.  Sometimes it's a couple days before I clean up something I spilled on the floor.  I just have to keep a list of things I need to do because I get so over my head, I can't keep track of everything.

OMG! Spell check works on the new server!  Yay!

Wow, it does work... That's sweet. I never knew what the SMF spellcheck did. Yay for the new host!
