Brian Roberts was already my favorite current baseball player so this just puts him over the edge in my book: LINK

Now if they could only get Barry Bonds to do something like that.......

This just shows how much of a class organization the Orioles are.  Not many teams would give this kind of support to a player who wasn't dying.  Why do you think Brooks Robinson and Cal Ripkin, Jr. played their entire careers with Baltimore?  And why most of the players want to stay there?

Like Melvin Mora. He's a good player. This was his last season under contract. He could have easily sold his services to a contending team. But he didn't. He worked out a deal with the Orioles and now he's with the team for three more years and he likes playing for them. Take that, you little whineball Tejada

And didn't Conine come back?  I could be wrong about that.  So many players want to be an Oriole.  Loyalty is a lost art with baseball.

Conine came back because someone wanted to pay him Smiley
