Thought that subject header would get people interested.

Just a question about the male species versus the female species.  RichN left this morning for five days in Orlando BUT he's sharing the accommodations with a male friend.  Two double beds but one hotel room.  He's uncomfortable with that.

Why?  Why do men have this fear of sharing even a bed with another guy?  Women do it all the time.  There were four of us and two beds in Las Vegas and no one had a problem.  Men freak at the thought.

You guys share troughs in some men's room.  Your urinal situation certainly holds no secrets (except for the "don't look down" thing).

Both RichN and his friend are happily married (well, I THINK RichN is) so that's not an issue.  In the words of George Constanza, are you guys that afraid "it might move"?

I wouldn't be uncomfortable with sharing a room with another guy. We did it several times on band trips in high school and that's what a roommate in college is, hehe, but I've not had any actual roommates in almost 2 years. Apartmentmates are a little different.

But to answer the question, I don't see why I'd be uncomfortable sharing a room with another dude. Especially if the other guy is a friend.

Rooms are one thing, I don't have a problem with that and anyone who does should honestly just think about that for a few minutes.  Beds are different.  I'm not a big fan of that one, partly because the male anatomy is just interesting in the way it behaves (and protrudes).  Yes, females have similar problems, but given the bathroom environment (ask a guy about urinal behavior) and I think you'll understand the bed-sharing deal.

I have no problems sharing a room with another guy. I just don't want to sleep in the same bed as him. And it is true, the "unit" can do some strange things at night

There's something erotic about men letting their guard down enough to share a bed....I'll stop now. LOL

I guess I'm in the minority when I don't even really mind sharing a bed with another dude. So long as no funny business is attempted. When the family goes anywhere and we stay in a hotel, I always end up sharing a bed with my brother and we shared beds in the hotels on band trips. My main problem with sharing a bed is actually sharing it. I've had a queen to myself since I was in like 5th grade and I'm used to sprawling out however I want.

Haha, naw, that's for other reasons. If I could find a willing participant in bed sharing, I'd find a way to make it work.

Hey, I never said I would mind sharing a room with another dude.  Bed, yes, but not room.  My comment to disnut8 was that I didn't really know his habits, and it might cause problems.  As a couple of examples (after the fact) he was into watching movies on AMC and Turner Classic, and I like "normal" TV.  I like to actually eat a meal, whereas he was fine with heating up a couple cans of hominy in the room as his dinner.  Since he drove, I had few options, other than expensive Disney cuisine, AKA overpriced hotdogs.  Really, just said that to bug disnut8, as you always get plenty to eat there for the price.

To add another comment, women can have fun being nekkid together having a pillow fight.  Dudes don't like being nekkid around each other.  At least that's what I remember from Animal House.

See, there's always a nudist. You get a few guys together and one of them, dammit, will want to get naked. I can't explain it.

Haha, Shelby was one of my suitemates from McCabe Smiley But yeah, Andy was worse. Shelby never had loud, obnoxious sex in the shower... Were you there that day in the GE IRC room? Dave and Brian were so funny.

Yes, and it's also untrue, but it adds to the effect of the story Wink  They were both perfectly nice, I don't mean to imply otherwise, but combining the situation with appearances is a bit disturbing.
