Still got my old badass Audigy 4 to throw in for sound, along with the 5.1 speakers, as well as a SONY 16x DVD-RW, ordered a new 16x DVDROM as well. All the usual peripherals, and I bought a SAMSUNG 19in Flat Panel Monitor last week.
BF2 should be smokin here pretty soon. Closest I will have ever been to running anything near new for a computer.

You may not get booted any less but it had better run better online or the upgrade wasn't worth it And yes, Chris definitely improved after adding RAM. If you're being hindered by your system and you upgrade, it's then about the game and not compensating for choppies, you can turn on more helpful effects, etc. |

I know my gameplay was enhanced greatly just by the fact I could see muzzle flashes. That's allowed me to locate many enemies

Dunno if I'd trust that hard drive or video card, but the rest looks good. I had one of those 250 gig caviar drives and it kicked the bucket. And anybody that knows me, knows I hate ATI cards, so...

haha, well i've never had any luck with an nVidia card, thus the ATI choice. I've literally never had one work in any of my PCs.
you had a 250gb hd kick the bucket? I've only had 1 hd ever die on me, and that was an western digital 80gb after several years of service. I'll be wary of it though, thanks.

Since my last post, I had another caviar drive die. Actually, it was broken right out of the box. CLICK CLICK CLICK. Hmm, you make the 4th person I know that's had one of those 80gb WD drives die.
My hard drive ranking: Seagate > Hitachi/IBM > WD > Maxtor.

I have yet to have a hard drive failure. My main 160 GB one is a Seagate drive. I think my secondary 40 GB one is a Maxtor that came with my old HP. Still works somehow, despite sitting on top of a subwoofer for months.

Even if the sub had erased the drive, I think a format would have gotten it back to working condition and not hurt anything besides the data.

I should be good if anything happens. I have all my music burned to DVD and I have a semi-weekly (that's twice a week, right?) backup going to my external 80GB drive that contains music, documents, and some other stuff.
*checks the backup, just to be sure, though, hehe*

You could keep an eye out for a steal like Nathan and I got. What was ours when we got them, Nathan? They went for like $100+ and somehow we got them for less than $25 or some foolishness. that was one of the hottest deals I think I've ever seen.

I have one of those dohickey's -- got it for $20. GG hot deals.
Oh, I got the RMA for that bad drive and it works so far... but my friend's died. Thats 1 for 4 so far. This one will probably go out, soon.

Booya! the system is up and running. with all the busyness from work and folks visiting for the 4th it took me awhile. Things look a heck of a lot more badass than they used to... Can't wait to quit being a slacker and get back on BF2 with this.
