So, what are these people up to with their internet hijinks and kidnapping the Secretary of Defense?

Driscoll needs to die. I hate her. And Chloe is so much cooler this season

Agreed. Chloe's not just some stupid waste of a human so far. Good stuff.

And Kim Raver is so hot...

Kim Raver looks weird, not hot

And that new field agent dude sure didn't last long. I figured he'd die sometime in the course of the season

Kim Raver IS hot, and I hate that they let Jack get beat down like that.

I don't think she's hot

Yeah, I agree, Jack shouldn't have been beaten down that easily by that pansy field agent guy

I thought right when it happened that it was dumb that Jack could be taken down as easily as he was and then the other guy get shot like that. He was in plain sight of the terrorist. Standing there wide-ass open for a second as he got behind the truck.

Kim Raver is sickening. Bring back Kate Warner. SHE was a hottie! And since Kim and Chase are raising Angela in Valencia I doubt we'll be seeing Elisha this season.

Chloe is looking good, though. I think the actress lost some weight and buffed up a bit. She's looking good. I'm hoping that Tony is the division bigwig, but then again...we all know what happens to the guys that get sent down from division.

Either they get radiation poisoning and then blown up by a nuke or they get shot in the head for the good of the country. Not really something that would make me jump at the chance to work there.

As for Jack getting taken down. It made perfect sense. He's a pencil pusher. He has been for a year and a half. There's no way that it would be believable that he could take on a field agent that has his old job(which means training out the ass) on the first try. I thought it was very good for the writers to not make Jack Bauer a god. That idea just gets old. He doesn't have to be invincible to be a badass.

As for the guy taking his shot? I think that the urgency of the moment made him do that. Too bad the guy already knew he was there. If he hadn't, Ronnie would have gotten his guy.

I don't think Tony will be the division guy... I would think getting arrested at the end of Season 3 would score some bad marks for his future at CTU...

Driscoll should be promoted for bringing in the bad guys(because she steals Jack's thunder) and then die next season when she's the division person.

Hehe, I actually don't think I could disagree more about Jack getting taken down as easily as he was. There's no info on Fox's site about what training Ronnie (I guess that's how you spell it) has, but Jack was Delta Force like 5 years ago. I really doubt that a year and a half out of CTU working for the DOD is going to make him forget enough training to get handled the way he did. Delta training is hardcore. And even with the time in between when Jack left Delta to join CTU, he still had ~3.5 years of field ops work. It may not be as heavy as Delta work, no, but I don't think 1.5 years is going to slow a former Delta Force member (and a team leader, no less) down that much.

Quote
Too bad the guy already knew he was there.

The point is that he shouldn't have been in plain sight of the terrorist. Add to the fact that he was careless enough to expose himself like he did knowing that the terrorist was not 100 feet away makes me question how he was able to detain Jack as easily as he was. I agree with the idea that Jack shouldn't be invincible, but that whole scene just doesn't jive with me. I really don't think someone as careless as Ronnie would be able to take down someone with Jack's training.

Either way, we're probably overanalyzing it and should just enjoy the show :-)

You know what? I just remembered that Jack also had a heart condition. Maybe he just didn't want to waste the energy on Ronnie and figured that the idiot would get himself killed, thus leaving Jack on his own without the drag of Ronnie.

Bwahaha, that's true. I forgot that Jack was technically dead in... what was that, season 2?

Yeah, Jack was tortured in Season 2, Chase was tortured in Season 3, and Kim's friend was tortured in Season 1. I wonder who's going to get it this season. Maybe Andrew and Heller's son are it for this season. ;-)

Andrew's been through enough already. Apparently he nearly died. Now Heller's son... he's going to go crazy. I think they forgot about him...

I think they'll go back to Heller's son near the beginning of the next episode. Curtis told him that he was only in there for 30 minutes the first time and I think that was about halfway through episode 4. I imagine they're leaving him in the interrogation room a little longer this time. I don't think they forgot him.

Writer #1: "We're halfway through the show and we need some padding to make it last the rest of the way. What should we do?"

Writer #2: "Hey, what about Heller's son? We haven't used him in awhile. What's he doing in the show now?"

Writer #1: blank look

Writer #2: sudden realization "OH CRAP!"

Writer #1: "Okay, okay, this will be perfect padding... he breaks free and, because he's so crazy from the sensory deprivation, he'll kill a few of those red-shirted guards... heh, I still love how we took the redshirt idea from Star Trek... and destroy CTU. It'll be better than the bomb destroying CTU in Season 2."

Writer #2: "Yeah, yeah, that would be a great idea! Then he can escape CTU and join up with the terrorists!"

Writer #1: "And he'd be crazy enough to have a bomb strapped to his chest to take out Jack Bauer. This is great."

And watch that really happen...

Hehe, that'd be crazy. Seriously, though, if the writers did forget about him, they'd probably just let it slide and never resolve it. Maybe have a character mention later that they were never able to get anything from Heller's son and let it die.
