One of the "fun" things with crashing your car is getting it towed away.  With my accident, I didn't have a choice as to where Elliott (I name my cars) was taken.  In this case, the cops called the local guy who came out and picked it up.  He's now the proud owner of the totally demolished car.  But the bill for the towing was $175 bucks.  We have AAA and it would have been free but, quite honestly, that was the last thing on my mind at the time.  The cops just wanted the thing taken away as well.

So we paid the towing bill and then asked AAA for reimbursement for the fee.  The limit on something like this is $80 (we don't have the super duper coverage).  But I asked for the entire $175 because (1) the cops took over and I had no choice (2) I was out in Deliveranceland and the place where it was towed was the only option (3) I needed to get to the hospital instead of concerning myself with the car (sorry Elliott).

I sent in the request last week and yesterday received a check for the entire $175!!!  Totally awesome!  I love AAA and will always be a member.  Free maps and trip books, road side assistance, free towing if you need it.

Oooo, very nice. I signed up for a free month of the All State Travel Club thingy but I think I'm going to cancel it. I don't travel enough to warrant paying for out-of-town repairs and hotel stays and all that stuff if I ever need it. It's a good plan if you travel a lot, but that's just not me so I'd better get on the ball and cancel before the month is up so they don't bill me.

We haven't had to use AAA yet, but we're glad we have it just in case.

I think your whole life revolves around who sponsors who Smiley Like the other day when I said I switched my car to Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil, you said you didn't use Mobil 1 because they sponsor Kurt Busch. Even though it's some of the best oil you can get.

No Mobil 1. Same with Alltel. We're never getting Alltel.
