Going to be out September 30. A while away but this should be good. Can't wait.

If this doesn't prove why the TV show needs to be resurrected, I don't know what will...

It's just not going to happen.....

I really don't think it's out of the question at this point. The DVD of Serenity is now profitable for Universal - who has the rights to 2 more films - and they'd be crazy not to make another one now that the franchise has gotten as big as it has. The Firefly DVD box set turned a lot of people onto the show and I think the movie turned even more onto the show. Pretty much everyone I know that's a fan has been converted in the last, what 7-8 months since the movie came out? i didn't go see Serenity in the theaters, you didn't, Chris didn't really know what it was about I don't think, and all three of us would account for at least a dozen showings and two DVDs of a sequel. And that's just three of us. Multiply that by however many thousand new fans there are... and Universal has to know it.

No, I don't think seeing more of our favorite crew is out of the question. Odds are, yes, that it will be as a movie sequel before anything else, but maybe, just maybe, someone will get a clue and bring back our show.

We just need something. Vengeance just converted her friend into a Browncoat recently and I'm trying to get Rox to watch the gorram series. I know she'd like it. Serenity is what turned me on to Firefly. I managed to watch about the entire movie at work and something about that movie I just absolutely loved... and I had never even seen the series. It's easy to convert people in fans of this show... oh so very easy. Wash's "This Land" speech is the hook.

I totally agree, Super, that films are going to happen. I can't imagine they won't. I just know how badly FOX sucks ass so that's why I don't think the show as a show will come back.

Unless they change their administration team drastically over there, the policy is going to be to keep their heads up their asses. hehehe

If there's sequels and they do well, Universal would be smart to buy the rights from FOX and just go on without them. Although what I'd really like is for Sci-Fi to snatch them up and run the show on Sci-Fi. Ratings don't have to be giant like on the network stations so it could do a lot better there. They'd have an incredible Friday night lineup for sci-fi fans if they ran it there with the two Stargates and Battlestar Galactica. Most stations wouldn't run 4 hours of new shows in a single night but I bet Sci-Fi would do like an 8 to midnight Sci-Fi Friday or something.

SciFi already pretty much has Firefly. SciFi is owned by Universal and Universal is allowed to make mini-series but can't use the Firefly name. I still wonder why they haven't pulled the trigger on something like that.

I would be perfectly happy - as would everyone else, I'm sure - if the show was called Serenity: The Series instead of Firefly. The name "Firefly" isn't integral to the show. So long as they don't have to call the ship something other than Serenity, they can work around not being able to use he Firefly name if they had to.
