It's been 7 years today since the Columbine shooting. I just thought maybe we could all take a moment and pray or observe silence or send good vibes or whatever you believe in for all the people hurt that day and for the families of those killed, even the killers' families. Those boys hurt so many, but their families don't deserve the pain and shame inflicted. None of them do.
This moment changed our lives forever as far as school policies. Raising Marlie now is so different from when I went to school and this is one of the key moments that began that change. I think it's important we never forget the horror that happened whenever we start wondering why things are the way they are now.

It was also around this time when my high school had a scare and two students were arrested for planning an assault on the school...

And now we have those students in Kansas who were arrested for plotting to do the same thing this year. Had been planning it since the start of the school year. What the hell are these kids thinking? One interesting thing I didn't know. April 20th is the birthday of Adolf Hitler.

Didn't the fact that April 20th is Hitler's birthday have something to do with Columbine in the first place? I thought I remember hearing that but maybe it was just speculation at the time and wasn't ever substantiated.
